Yoga Shanti

March - June 2017

New York, NY

During this four-month accelerated program, students from the healthcare and yoga communities are trained in the five modalities of treatment: yoga therapy (restorative poses, breath awareness, in-bed movement, and guided meditation), Reiki, essential oil therapy, nutrition and contemplative care. Each modality is introduced separately, and then students are taught how to integrate them to address the patient’s or client’s symptoms – pain, anxiety, nausea, insomnia, constipation and exhaustion – PANICTM.

Once students have completed their training, they obtain practical, real-world experience during their clinical rotation, when they work with patients, their loved ones and their caregivers. At least fifty hours of clinical rotation is required for certification and is completed in established clinical settings.
